Housing Affordability Advocate
Mike is currently a member of the Broward County Housing Authority Audit Committee, ensuring the affordable housing process is fair, transparent and solutions-based. He previously was a member of the City of Fort Lauderdale Board of Adjustment, one of the most important development regulatory boards in our community.
Business Experience
Mike, a well-known financial advisor for businesses, families, and retirees is a current member of TAG Advisors Investment Committee which represents more than $10 billion in client assets. In a time of inflation and instability, Mike’s proven professional experience will be critical when overseeing and managing Fort Lauderdale’s over $700 million budget.
Champion of the Environment
A leading environmental advocate, Mike is Vice President and member of the Executive Committee of the Coastal Conservation Association Florida, a 19,000 member organization, and also serves as President of the Coastal Conservation Association of Broward County. He also holds a Board Seat for CCA National, a 150,000 member organization. He started Fort Lauderdale’s largest fishing club in 2015 which boasted more than 1000 members at the time and led a widespread oyster study in the City’s waterways recently.
Entrepreneur
Mike is also a founder and now former CFO of the successful Fort Lauderdale based Clean Waterways, a nationally recognized new technology startup focused on restoring and protecting our nationals waterways, lakes and bays. He worked in an education technology start-up out of college and has experience in the property & casualty insurance space.
Community Involvement
A proud graduate of Leadership Broward Class 37, Mike understands what it takes to move Fort Lauderdale to the next level. He is responsible for leading the effort to develop and deploy one of Broward County’s largest ongoing artificial reef projects to foster growth of corals and provide habitat for fish. Mike graduated from Pine Crest School and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Florida State University.
